The actor, born in 1965, studied acting at the Theater Department of the Istanbul University State Conservatory. In 1989, while still a student, he made his television debut in one of TRT 1's unforgettable series, Gençler. He made his cinematic debut with the films Aşk Filmlerinin Unutulmaz Yönetmeni (1990), directed by Yavuz Turgul, and Suyun Öte Yanı (1991), directed by Tomris Giritlioğlu. After graduating, he won the Avni Dilligil Best Supporting Actor award for his role in the play Derin Bir Soluk Al (1993). During the 1990s, he reached a broad audience through TV shows, commercials, and music videos. He continued his film career with roles in Yengeç Sepeti and Bir Kadının Anatomisi, both directed by Yavuz Özkan, as well as Deli Yürek: Bumerang Cehennemi. His role in Yengeç Sepeti earned him the Best Supporting Actor Award at the 31st Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival, and his performance in Bumerang Cehennemi won him the same award at the 39th festival. In the early 2000s, he portrayed the character Ferhan in the popular TV series Yeditepe İstanbul (TRT1). Starting in 2003, he began a new chapter in his career with his iconic role as Süleyman Çakır in the hit series Kurtlar Vadisi, which became a phenomenon. From 2015 to 2021, he was once again a beloved figure on television, playing the role of Hızır Çakırbeyli in Eşkıya Dünyaya Hükümdar Olmaz (atv), one of the most popular TV series of the time.
