Nurgül Yeşilçay, born in 1976, is a graduate of the Theatre Department at Anadolu University. She began her acting career with the unforgettable series 'İkinci Bahar' and subsequently, with her portrayal of 'Bahar' in the record-breaking hit series 'Asmalı Konak' , she quickly rose to become one of Turkey's most successful actresses. She has worked with many prominent directors in cinema. She received the 'Best Actress' award at the 12th Adana Golden Koza Film Festival for her role in Atıf Yılmaz's 'Eğreti Gelin' and the 'Best Actress' award at the 45th Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival for her role in Erden Kıral's 'Vicdan' . She participated in the 60th Cannes Film Festival with Fatih Akın's award-winning film 'The Edge of Heaven'. The series 'Magnificent Century Kösem', in which she portrayed 'Kösem Sultan', became the 2017 TV series export champion. The TV series 'Broken Pieces' and 'Gülperi' achieved international success. Yeşilçay, who also appeared on stage in the play 'Bir Gece Bir Barda', starred in the films 'Kim Bu Aile' and 'Buddies From the Neighborhood', which were released in 2022. Nurgül Yeşilçay, who is also a professional painter, has a son named Osman Nejat.
