Nurgül Yeşilçay, born in 1976, graduated from Anadolu University Theater Department. She started her acting career in legendary Turkish TV series ''İkinci Bahar (Second Spring)'' and then became one of the most successful Turkish actresses with Bahar role in phenomenal Turkish TV series ''Asmalı Konak''. She worked with many successful producers. She received The Best Actress Award at 12th Adana Golden Boll Film Festival with her performance in Atıf Yılmaz's ''Eğreti Gelin (Borrowed Bride)'' and The Best Actress Award at 45th Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival with her performance in Erden Kıral's ''Vicdan (Conscience)'' movie. She attended the 60th Cannes Film Festival with Fatih Akın's award receiving ''Yaşamın Kıyısında (The Edge of Heaven)'' movie. She played Kösem Sultan character in ''Muhteşem Yüzyıl Kösem (Magnificent Century: Kösem) series which became the most exported Turkish TV series. The series ''Paramparça (In the Fade)'' and ''Gülperi'' achieved international success. Yeşilçay took part in ''Bir Gece Bir Barda'' theater play and the movies ''Kim Bu Aile'' and ''Mahalleden Arkadaşlar'' in which she starred will be aired soon. Nurgul Yeşilçay, who is painting professionally, has a son named Osman Nejat.
