Numan acar, born in 1974 in Gümüşhane, studied civil engineering in Germany. He, then received theatrical education. He started his acting career in 2003, taking part in TV series and movies in Germany. He introduced himself to Turkish audience with his role in Kebab Connection in 2004. He took part in ''Hacivat ve Karagöz Neden Öldürüldü'', ''Berlin Kaplanı'' movies and ''Menekşe ile Halil'' TV series. He was highly praised for his performance in American TV series Homeland. He was named as ''The Best Breakthrough Artist'' by The Hollywood Reporter with his role in Fatih Akın's Paramparça (In the Fade) movie which was received awards at The Golden Globe and Cannes. He appeared in TV series, Jack Ryan and movies such as Asif Kapadia's Ali & Nino, Guy Ritchie's Aladdin, John Watts' Spiderman - Far From Home / Örümcek Adam - Evden Uzakta and Zhang Yimou's The Great Wall / Çin Seddi. He received many awards from the festivals for his starring performance in Turkish movie called ''Gölgelerin İçinde (In the Shadows).
