Born in Ankara, Serhat Kılıç completed his education at the Theater Department of Bilkent University. Throughout his career, he has appeared in many theater productions, making his professional debut in 1998 in Ariel Doffman’s play Kayıplar (Dullar). He also pursued a master's degree in directing at Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory, where he worked as a lecturer. After moving to Istanbul, Kılıç continued his theater work. He made his television debut in 2000 with the series Bizim Evin Halleri and went on to star in notable TV series such as Seksenler, Maraşlı, Kuruluş Osman, Son Gün, Tetikçinin Oğlu, and Kirli Sepeti. He also appeared in acclaimed films like Veda, Mavzer, and Cenazemize Hoşgeldiniz. Kılıç was part of Nuri Bilge Ceylan's Kış Uykusu, which won the prestigious Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival, and he attended the festival. Kılıç continues to perform on stage with his one-man play titled Kırık Plak.
