Born in 1982, Sedef Avcı graduated from Kocaeli University with a degree in Labor Economics. Following her time with the Mahşeri Cümbüş theater group, she attended workshops led by Anthony Vincent Bova from the Actors Studio in New York. In 1997, she won first place in Elite Model Look Turkey. In 2001, she came in second in the Miss Turkey competition and represented Türkiye in the Miss Universe beauty pageant. She gained attention in 2007 with her leading role in the TV series 'Menekşe ile Halil', followed by roles in the TV series 'Ezel', and then reached a wider audience with her part in the movie 'Romantic Comedy'. Avcı also appeared in historical series such as 'Mehmed The Conqueror' and 'The Last Emperor: Abdul Hamid II ', as well as in 'Çöp Adam' and Netflix's internationally acclaimed series 'Old Money'. She is married to fellow actor Kıvanç Kasabalı and has a son.
