Born in Istanbul in 1985, Melisa Sözen began acting at a young age and has been part of many successful productions in TV, digital media, film, and theater. She gained international recognition with her performance in Nuri Bilge Ceylan's Kış Uykusu, which won the Palme d'Or. In 2015, she achieved significant success by winning Best Actress awards from both the Theater Critics Association for the play Kalp Düğümü and the Cinema Writers Association for Kış Uykusu. After appearing in Eric Rochant's Le Bureau des Légendes, she continued her international career with the film Damien Veux Changer Le Monde. Sözen garnered widespread acclaim for her role in Netflix's globally successful series Biz Kimden Kaçıyorduk Anne?. In 2024, she served as a creative producer for the film Chaplin Dörtlüsü and has also been a jury member at prestigious festivals such as CanneSeries, Sarajevo Film Festival, and Guanajuato International Film Festival. Currently, she is on set for the new digital series Fer, produced by BKM.
